EPA/DHA Omega-3s from Krill Oil
EPA and DHA are essential omega-3 fatty acids that are critical for heart and brain health. While our bodies require these fatty acids to be healthy, we are not capable of producing them. Meanwhile, few of us receive adequate amounts through our diet. That means most people need to supplement. That said, not all sources of EPA and DHA are created equal. We believe oil from a small shrimplike crustacean called krill is the superior source. Why oil from krill? There are four primary reasons: krill oil is more easily absorbed by the body than other sources of omega-3s due to its high phospholipid content; it contains a powerful antioxidant called astaxanthin; research indicates it has stronger anti-inflammatory properties than other sources; and it has no fishy aftertaste. Beyond that, it comes down to potency, purity, and freshness. Our Antarctic krill oil comes from Azantis, producers of the highest quality krill oil available. Their Premium Plus Krill Oil Blend is free from contaminants, and contains optimal levels of EPA, DHA, phospholipids, and astaxanthin.
